Due to the business nature of my primary work, I usually have the chance to meet celebrities which I gained lots of wisdoms of live from their experiences.
However, one particular case impressed me the most. That was a senior granny of 105 years old lived solely by herself for over decades. She, who made her living by collecting Chinese medical herbs in the mountains, bare-footed, has to walk miles to town fair for over 2 hours single journey to sell what she gathered.
The very day that the on location camera-shooting was taken place happened to rain. I kept pushing the umbrella in her hand towards her side whilst she was doing similarly even harder to shelter me more.
In the evening when we finished interview and about to leave, Granny asked if we were coming back in June. She said, “The sweet corns will be ripe by then, and if you cannot make it in June, do come in August or September. The peanuts are due and you are welcome for the breakfast.”
Every time when I think of her, I am deeply touched. I want to hear how is she getting along in these days, but I dare not to ask the neighbors for any possibly sorrowful news. This is the most profound memory for my 2009.
